ハワイ・マウイ島山火事の災害義援金寄付について

 

このたびアメリカ合衆国ハワイ州マウイ島の山火事被害により被災された方々に心よりお見舞い中 し上げます。

弊社は、 1951年の創立以来長年にわたって在沖縄米軍の物資輸送に携わってきました。また、弊社の所在する沖縄県の歴史を振り返ると1 9 0 0年に沖縄からハワイへの移民がスタートし、現在は多くのハワイのウチナーンチュが活躍し続けており、沖縄とハワイ州は親しい関係にあります。

今回、被災された方々の救済および被災地の復興に役立てて頂くため、2023年10月に義援金として2,000ドル（約30万円）をハワイコミュニティ財団に寄付致しました。

被災地の一日も早い復旧・復興をお祈り申し上げます。

 

弊社は過去にも、2005年8月末にアメリカ合衆国南東部を襲った大型ハリケーン「カトリーナ」により被災された方々への救済および被災地の復興に役立てて頂くため、同年10月に義援金として￥609,713をアメリカ赤十字へ寄付致しました。

Maui Nui Strong

– for Relief from the Maui Wildfires –

 

First, Oroku Transportation expresses our abiding sympathies to those affected by the wildfires which ravaged the Hawaiian island of Maui.

We have drayed for the US Forces in Okinawa since our inception in 1951.  Yet, Okinawa’s ties to Hawaii go back even further – to the first Okinawa immigrants who reached Hawaii shores in 1900.  Today, many Hawaiian Uchinanchu are key members of Hawaiian communities, and Okinawa and Hawaii maintain a close relationship.

This year, in 2023, our company donated US＄2,000 in relief funding for Maui through the Hawaii Community Foundation.

We pray for the earliest possible recovery and reconstruction of the disaster-stricken areas.

 

In October of 2005, Oroku Transportation donated 609,713 yen through the American Red Cross as relief funding for the southeastern US communities affected by Hurricane Katrina in August of that year.
